Lockdown, Clients & Silly Hats

As will likely be the case for many of you reading this, the presence of COVID-19 and its accompanying restrictions has had a huge impact on the way we’ve had to run our business for the past year and a half.

This is by no means written with anger or frustration – it’s easy to see we have it relatively easy at Wilkes Wood, even for the digital world – there’s no global logistics for us to be concerned about and our business was able to continue operating throughout the entire ordeal, so we really cannot complain.

In fact, having a mother that’s worked the whole pandemic as a nurse means I really can’t complain, as even my toughest day this year isn’t a drop in the ocean, but I’ve been assured that I’m allowed to say the following:

I’ve really missed seeing clients.

And by that, I mean I’ve missed seeing clients as three dimensional beings that exist beyond the realm of Zoom.

We’ve worked on some fairly large and complicated projects this year, and have done so alongside some bloody incredibly people that have put in just as much effort as we have to achieve the end results.

So, in the context of Sladen Consulting, it was a bit of a shame not to be able to celebrate the launch of their new website with them when the time came.

Thankfully though, we’ve now had the opportunity to meet the core team in person and catch up – we were even blessed with sunlight and an assortment of fancy dress hats that I can assure you are not part of the standard Wilkes Wood meeting protocol.

So, here’s to (hopefully) many more celebrations we can share in person!

A New Chapter

We’ve worked on some extremely interesting projects in the past few months, including the launch of an e-commerce store (or two), a full-scale rebrand for a global business consultancy, and branding work for a new venture in Sheffield set to establish the North as a major player in the tech industry.

It’s safe to say we’ve been a little busy, and we’re incredibly grateful for this, especially during such tumultuous times, but it was also important for us to carve out some time where we could focus on our future and apply the same attention that we give to our clients to ourselves.

That’s why you’re reading this on our brand new website.

We’ve developed a lot since our old site was launched, and it really didn’t reflect the business we are today: we’ve added in the new services we offer, updated our portfolio, created a renewed reputation section, and refined our brand elements across all our assets, both internal and external.

We’re incredibly excited about the new chapter we’re entering as a business, and from a professional and personal level we’d both like to thank those that have made it possible to be here.

So thank you to our clients, new and old, and welcome to the new site!
