Our Process
Our tried and tested design process guides every website build, regardless of scale or complexity. Our process framework not only ensures that all of our projects run smoothly, but it also gives you ample opportunity to be as involved in the design & feedback process as you’d like to be.
Discovery
Starting from a place of directed curiosity, we get to know you, your business, audience, and objectives, as well as collecting information on deadlines, scope, content, and technical elements like hosting and domains.
Design & Build
After developing a low-fidelity wireframe and plan, we can start our design and development. We work from a feedback driven process so you are always kept in the loop and are able to be as hands off or as collaborative as you want during the entire process.
Launch & Aftercare
After final checks and sign-off, your site can be scheduled for launch. You’ll receive training so you can get the most out of your new site and we also offer packages for ongoing support and dedicated SEO services.
FAQs
How much is a website?
We design and develop websites of all shapes and sizes, ranging from single page scrolling sites right through to those with a large and complex site footprint – because all of our work is bespoke to your business and needs, we can’t give an accurate ballpark without further discussion.
Having said that, our single page sites typically fall around the £2k mark. Larger sites have a much larger range of complexity – typically, they start around the £4-5k mark.
We offer a free initial discovery call – get in touch and we can discuss your needs and give you much more clarity on pricing.
How long does a website take?
How long a website takes us to design and develop boils down to three main factors: complexity of site requirements, provision of on-page content, and the speed/accuracy of your feedback.
It’s not possible for us to estimate an accurate time-frame for web projects without assessing the complexity of your project, however as a rough guide we aim to turn around most single page sites in around 1 month and standard sites within 1.5-3 months depending on complexity.
These timelines assume that all content is accurate and provided to us ahead of time, and that client feedback was swift and actionable.
We always discuss deadlines as part of our initial discovery call – this is free, so if you want to discuss further just get in touch.
Will the website be unique?
Every business we work with has their own distinct story, and it’s our job to help you share yours.
Our comprehensive web discovery process ensures that we really get to know you, your business, audience and objectives – we’ve been doing this since 2018 and have never come out of this process with the same answers as another project.
This information gathering forms the foundation of your new website build and enables us to really tailor our work to your specific business needs.
We can now communicate what makes your business unique, turn your web traffic into valuable conversions, and provide the best experience possible to the people that matter the most: your audience.
Will I have input in design?
We’ve developed a flexible design process that allows you to have as much or as little input as you’d like during feedback rounds.
We have clients who want to be completely hands off and trust our vision as designers, and we also have clients who want to be heavily involved with feedback.
At the point of starting design work, we’ll have completed our discovery process and possess lots of information to inform our initial design. This will then be sent to you/your team for feedback.
Once we receive your feedback, we’re back to designing. This process continues until we reach a final iteration that we are all proud of, and we can then work to get this rolled out.
Can I edit the site myself?
Content that’s on the site today might need to be different tomorrow.
That’s why we make it as easy as possible for you and your team to make edits and updates to text and image content on your website, working with some of the world’s largest and most trusted content management systems like WordPress.
No matter how much experience you have with websites, we will teach you how to get the most out of your site and be confident editing text, adding images, blog posts and more – we do this by providing custom video tutorials upon site handover.
This means you can reference these videos as you need to down the line, and also use them to train your team to easily manage and update your site.
We’ll always be on hand to help with major edits and changes, and can even handle the little ones if you’d prefer.
Will I receive ongoing support?
We offer a selection of ongoing support packages to our clients, giving you the freedom to choose a package that suits the needs of your business as it grows and develops. Encompassing site maintenance, analytics insight, meetings, content updates and design work, you can rest assured that we are looking after your website and can respond to your needs.
Websites are a lot like cars – they require regular maintenance to ensure you’re getting the very most out of it. That’s why we recommend that most of our clients opt for at least our essential support package (£75 per month).
However, our support packages are not compulsory. We are able to completely hand off the website to you and your team after launch should that be most suitable to your needs.
If you’re interested in learning more, get in touch and we will send over our most up-to-date support packages PDF.
