Our Process
Ensuring you have a fantastic project experience matters just as much to us as the quality of the final product we hand over.
Our process framework ensures design projects run efficiently, but also provides you with ample opportunity for feedback and input during the entire design process.
You can be as hands-on or hands-off as you want.
First, we take the time to fully understand your objectives so that we are certain we are starting from a place of unity and know what direction is best suited to the needs of you and your business.
Taking influence from the discovery phase, we will work with you to produce a plan of action. Typically, we’ll construct a low fidelity wireframe to help us bring clarity to what information is to be presented and to establish where new content may need to be produced.
Once a wireframe has been established we can turn our focus towards the look and feel of your website.
By working in this way and thinking about the content first we not only expedite the design process by working concurrently to build content and copy, but we ensure that we have a solid foundation for design based on functionality first.
Depending on the complexity of the project at hand, we will create full website mock-ups to clarify our design before developing the site itself. For simple projects, the design and development process can be combined, saving time and enabling you to get a hands-on look at your site as it’s being built.
The development phase of the project sees us execute our plan; we make sure you are always kept in the loop and able to be as hands off or as collaborative as you want during the entire process.
We take care behind the scenes to ensure that best practices are followed. Our websites are optimised for all devices and are developed with user experience and SEO in mind. The invisible parts of a website are often where corners are cut, we pride ourselves on making sure things are done correctly and our quality control throughout the process.
We don’t leave you in the dark after a website is up and running. We will always provide you with training so you get the most out of your new website.
We offer a selection of ongoing support packages that cater for a variety of needs across all sizes of businesses. This ensures our process of refinement continues long after a project is launched using real world feedback to gain valuable insight into how visitors are using your site.
You also have access to a range of SEO specific packages should you want to invest in keyword driven content to drive organic traffic to your website.

Wilkes Wood designed a logo for us at JBM Performance in 2019, which to this day is visually striking and encapsulates the nature of the business within the design. The use of colour and typography is well-balanced and the overall design is polished and professional. The logo is easily recognisable and memorable, making it a strong asset for the brand.

FAQs
An efficient design process starts with a comprehensive brief – this is your chance to explain to us what design service you require, what your objectives are and, if possible, show us examples of what you like or dislike. After we are certain we fully understand the brief, we will draw up a project agreement that outlines the project quotation, any deadlines you have provided, and other information for your records. Once this is signed and a deposit paid, the design work can commence.
Depending on the design service, this would usually involve creating initial design concepts and then working together to iteratively refine one of these into the final deliverable.
We send design files in a compressed format via email or through a file sharing service. If you require any particular file formats, please ensure you let us know.
As soon as we receive final payment for design work, you will fully own the rights to the final design.
The initial brief is the most critical aspect of your involvement, as this helps us understand exact requirements, your business, and your audience. The more thought you put into the purpose of your design and what it will eventually be used for, and the more detail you can provide on your preferences, the smoother the process will be.
What Now?
All of our e-commerce projects start with a free no obligation chat. That gives us the chance to discuss where you are now, where you want to be, and how we can get you there…
