Blake McFarland is an ex-professional athlete turned artist and YouTuber. He creates custom sculptures, installations & artworks and films the creative process for his YouTube account, which now has over 500,000 subscribers. We worked with Blake to create a portfolio site that generates leads for commissions and provides more on his fascinating story.

Making the Move.

As Blake’s old site was built on a different CMS & hosting provider, we had to make the move to Squarespace. We handled all elements of the switch, taking measures to retain any SEO work Blake had done prior to the move, as well as working hard to make improvements for the new site. This involved a full audit of his current metrics before making the switch, giving us the ability to compare data to post-launch stats from the new site.

Creating a Portfolio Template.

Once we had settled on a portfolio design that was versatile enough to work for Blake’s eclectic projects, we had to make sure Blake could easily replicate this and add to his site. We created a series of templates and taught Blake how he could populate these with new content and publish them with ease, giving him full creative control of future posts.

Insight from Analytics.

As a content creator, it is important that Blake can gather insight into how visitors are finding his website and how he can better optimise content to increase these leads. With access to the Squarespace analytics suite, alongside Google Analytics, Blake can see what is driving growth, uncover demographic information on his site visitors and know where he can make improvements to his site.
